About Sharktech Global
Sharktech Global builds real operational technology for real businesses. We focus on practical, human-centred digital products that remove friction, scale intelligently, and deliver measurable outcomes.
This is not a place for theory, vanity work, or resume padding. It is a builder environment where ideas turn into shipped products, and learning happens through execution.
As a User Interface and User Experience Designer Intern, you will work on live products used by real customers, alongside product, engineering, and brand teams.
What You Will Do
You will design, test, and improve user experiences across active Sharktech platforms. Your work will ship, be reviewed by real users, and evolve based on feedback.
This role is for someone who wants hands-on product exposure and is motivated by making things work well, not just look good.
Key Responsibilities
- Support user research through interviews, usability testing, and competitor analysis
- Design wireframes, user flows, and low-fidelity to high-fidelity prototypes for real product features
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and brand teams during active build cycles
- Design interaction patterns that are intuitive, scalable, and grounded in real user behaviour
- Convert stakeholder and user feedback into clear design improvements
- Contribute to and maintain consistent design systems across products
- Document design decisions and share learnings with the wider team
Who You Are
You are curious, self-driven, and comfortable learning in motion. You take ownership of your work and care deeply about how users experience a product end to end.
You care more about solving real problems than producing polished concepts for show.
Ideal Attributes
- Currently completing, recently completed, or building equivalent skills through hands-on work in design, product thinking, or user experience
- Strong foundational understanding of user interface and user experience principles
- Portfolio that demonstrates problem solving, user empathy, and clear thinking
- Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
- Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly
- Motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently within a team environment
Why You Will Love This Internship
- Real Product Impact: Your work will be shipped, tested, and improved in live environments
- Builder Culture: Flat team structure where good ideas win, regardless of title
- Mentorship: Direct access to experienced designers and technologists
- Growth Pathways: Strong interns are considered for long-term roles
- Flexible Work Model: Hybrid working within Australia
- Learning First: Design reviews, workshops, and hands-on exposure across products
